PHYSICIAN |

Cherriese is one of seven kids born in Miami, FL living in the Jamaican community of Miramar. Her parents emigrated from Jamaica to further their education and instilled these same values into their children. When she was 10 years old, her family relocated to the DC metro area where she was integrated into an inclusive, multi-cultural community.
She studied biology at Washington Adventist University and discovered her love of mentorship and teaching. As an underrepresented minority attending the University of Maryland, School of Medicine, Cherriese gained a deeper understanding of her role as an URM in medicine and volunteered time with a local elementary school and numerous local universities serving as a mentor for other minority students.
Her passions further evolved to include addressing healthcare disparities, serving the underserved, women’s health and obstetric care, newborn care, and integrative medicine. In her spare time, Cherriese enjoys brunching, choreographing and participating in Zumba, dancing, exploring museums, finding new restaurants, reading, and trying to find dogs to pet.
